该模块为可拆卸式设计，由于DNA Engine 全系列热PCR 仪均使用这个模块，所以系列内不同型号间的扩增性能可以说是完全相同。同时，Alpha 模块还具有梯度PCR、快速PCR 等多项功能。可以说，由于DNA Engine 系列可通过装卸Alpha 模块来改变通量的特性，使其特别适合于具有高成长潜质的实验室的需要。
